Lisa Forkish is an Oakland-based vocalist, composer, arranger, educator and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. She has been involved in a cappella since 2002 when she got her start as music director for the University of Oregon’s award-winning female a cappella group Divisi, featured in the best-selling book “Pitch Perfect,” later made into the blockbuster film. Currently, Lisa is on faculty in the Vocal Music Department at Oakland School for the Arts where she is also founder/director of the school’s 5-time national champion a cappella group, Vocal Rush and director of their award-winning middle school ensemble, Encore. Lisa’s arrangements have been nominated for CARAs as has her student group Vocal Rush and her ACA-dubbed "ground-breaking" women’s quintet, The Riveters. Lisa is also co-founder and Executive Director of the Women's A Cappella Association and co-producer of SheSings Vocal Festival, held annually in California.
